The 2024 Waimea Solar System Walk expands this year to include a galactic celebration of Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope’s 45th Birthday!
Bring your ‘ohana to an interstellar journey right in Waimea town. The adventure begins at the W. M. Keck Observatory Headquarters, where you’ll embark on a guided journey through a scale model of our solar system.
Along the way, explore fascinating facts about planets and other celestial wonders before arriving at the Canada-France-Hawaiʻi Telescope headquarters where you’ll join us in a galactic celebration honoring the Observatory’s 45th birthday! Festivities include hands-on activities, ono grinds, a bounce castle, face painting, charity dunk tank, live music, a costume contest with prizes, and more!
