Discovering New Worlds with Keck, is given by UC Berkeley’s Geoff Marcy, one of the Observatory’s original Planet Hunters. In 2006, Dr. Marcy and his collaborators were lauded as pioneers in discovering more than 100 planets orbiting nearby stars. Today the total number of exoplanet discoveries exceeds 1,000 and is growing steadily.

The field of exoplanet research continues to dominate as one of the most exciting areas of astronomy.
